It seems the causes of muscle pain and joint pain are a book of seven seals to a lot of people, also to professionals. At least this is my limited experience of the past 10 years that I have studied, used, abused and dealt with the human body and lots of professional therapists.
In my opinion there is a general “mistake” being made, which is to complicate things. You can read books in the fields of western medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic etc. and read about fascia, muscles, nerves, organs and the complex interplay of those and still have no clue what it is all about. The information is just overwhelming and complex.
It is not that the information is wrong or whatsoever. Every single field that I have named or forgotten to list surely has its points and without a doubt its raison d´être. Still, when I was in pain I never got satisfactory results from those therapies or therapists, respectively
To put it in a nutshell, I would state the vast majority of people that suffer from muscle and joint pain, do so because they abused their bodies – mostly unaware – which lead to the creation of tight muscle tissue. Eventually trigger points developed in those tight muscles and initiated pain in them and the surrounding joints.
For me, things started to change when I saw a body worker who gave me quite some homework. It was then that I realized that it was me that is in charge, and no one else. I read more books and kept looking for exercises. I practiced and practiced; stuck with the things that showed results and dumped the rest.
Over time I got better and better with it and started to grasp the whole picture of the subject.
